Bts Becomes First K Pop Group To Be Nominated For Brit Awards

On March 31st (local time), the BRIT Awards announced BTSŌĆÖs nomination for the ŌĆ£International GroupŌĆØ category for their single Dynamite. The BRIT Awards started in 1977 under the British record industryŌĆÖs trade associationŌĆÖs auspices. And with this yearŌĆÖs ceremony, BTS became the first K-pop group to win a nomination for the award. The Brit Awards voting academy chooses the winners and nominees with over one-thousand members, which comprise record labels, publishers, managers, agents, and media. This year, BTS will be competing against Fontaines D.C., Foo Fighters, Haim, and Run the Jewels. The past winners for the category include Bon Jovi, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, and Green Day.
