According to Deadline, The CW is developing the remake of a genre-bending Korean drama, W. ŌĆ£The project, which is known as Angel City in the U.S., has been handed a scripted development order from the youth-skewing network,ŌĆØ they reported.
W follows the events and romance of a woman who gets accidentally sucked into a webtoon that her father has created. Therefore, Angel City will take a similar plot. Deadline introduced, ŌĆ£Angel City tells the story of Jules, a promising young surgeon whose stable life is upended when she gets pulled into an alternate dimension where her fatherŌĆÖs graphic novel, and its alluring heroine, have come to life.ŌĆØ Love, Victor writer Jen Braeden and Siren and Motherland: Fort Salem writer Heather Thomason pen the script. The show marks the first scripted project from The Masked Singer Āproducer Craig Plestis. Deadline wrote, ŌĆ£It is the latest Korean format being developed in the U.S. following the likes of ABCŌĆÖs The Good Doctor, produced by Daniel Dae Kim, and HBOŌĆÖs TV adaptation of Parasite in the works.
