On Sept. 22, Time magazine released its list for ŌĆ£The 100 Most Influential People of 2020,ŌĆØ and director Bong Joon Ho was included, drawing keen attention. The introduction was written by Tilda Swinton, who worked with Bong in Snowpiercer and Okja. BongŌĆÖs most recent film Parasite follows the members of a poor family who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating their household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals. It satirically points out capitalism and hierarchical society through the meeting of rich and poor families. The film won the Palme dŌĆÖOr at the 72nd Cannes International Film Festival and won four awards, including the Best Picture, at the 92nd Academy Awards, setting a new milestone in Korean film history. The list also included Jung Eun Kyung, head of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who led the success of preventing the COVID-19 pandemic.
